Connect the web app

The web app talks to your device over Web Bluetooth, straight from the browser. There is nothing to install and no app store.

Where What to use
Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS Chrome or Edge
Android Chrome
iPhone and iPad The V Browser, Focus V’s own browser app. Safari and the other iOS browsers cannot do Web Bluetooth.

The app must be opened over HTTPS, which the normal address already is. If your browser cannot do Web Bluetooth, the app says so and, on iPhone and iPad, sends you to The V Browser with the address copied.

  1. Open app.dialed.diy. Wake the device (5 clicks switches a switched-off device on).

  2. On the Connect tab, choose Connect a device. Your browser shows a chooser listing nearby Bluetooth devices.

  3. Pick your rig. The app checks what it is running:

    • Dialed Control found: it reads the device’s details and opens the dashboard.
    • Factory firmware found: it offers the install.
  4. Check the header that stays on screen: the Bluetooth name, board, firmware version, battery and connection state.

The device’s clock is set from your computer’s on every connection. That dates your session history, and smart standby needs it.

  • Demo runs the whole app against a simulated device, so you can look around without a rig.
  • Install is the install flow for a device on factory firmware.
  • Account is optional sign-in. See accounts and privacy.

On a phone, the Settings page has an Add to home screen card. The app then opens full-screen like any other app.

  • Make sure the device is on and not already connected to another app. Only one app at a time can hold the Bluetooth link, so close the official Focus V app first.
  • The device may be asleep. Press the button once to wake it.
  • If the chooser shows Dialed SAFE, the device is in safe mode.
