Carta Sport and Aeris (one button)
The Carta Sport and the Aeris have a single button and no screen, so everything is a count of clicks, sometimes followed by a hold. The timings are the factory’s, exactly.
How a gesture is read
Section titled “How a gesture is read”- A press counts once it has been held for 30 ms.
- A group of clicks closes 300 ms after the last release, and that is when the action happens.
- A press held 400 ms or longer is not a click: it is a hold. A hold is 1 second, except where the table says otherwise.
Writing 5 clicks + hold means five clicks, then press a sixth time and keep holding.
When the device is off
Section titled “When the device is off”| Gesture | What it does |
|---|---|
| 5 clicks | Power on |
| Click, then hold for 10 s | Quick heat: the factory cleaning gesture. It warms to a fixed temperature and holds it until you press. See Classic mode. |
When it is idle
Section titled “When it is idle”| Gesture | What it does |
|---|---|
| 1 click | Next slot: the next Classic preset (1 to 5) or, in Curve mode, the next curve. The light shows the slot’s colour and a count. |
| 2 clicks | Start a session |
| 3 clicks | Next light preset |
| 4 clicks | Battery level |
| 5 clicks | Power off |
| Hold 1 s | Dial mode: each click steps the value. In Classic it is +5 °F (+2 °C), wrapping at the top. In Curve it is a whole-curve offset of ±30 °F. Hold again to save. With no input for 5 s it cancels. |
| 3 clicks + hold 4 s | Low-power mode on or off |
| 5 clicks + hold (6th press) | Standby on or off. Two flashes: lime means on, steel means off. See Power and standby. |
| 6 clicks + hold | Switch between Classic and Curve. Three flashes: steel is Classic, lime is Curve. |
