Settings

The device reports all of its settings when you connect, and the page shows them in groups. When you change one, the device replies with the value now in effect, and that is what the page shows, so a value it clamped is never shown wrongly. Settings are stored by the device a few seconds later, or when you disconnect.

  • Units: °F or °C.
  • Mode: Classic or Curve.
  • Locked: blocks heat and settings on the device. It does not block the lights.
  • Vibration from 0 to 10. Zero turns haptics off, except for the “refused” pulse.
  • Haptic strength from 0 to 3.

Stealth, hot light, LED timeout, brightness, colour-blind palette and the active light preset. See Lights.

  • Stay awake and Device timeout (30 seconds to an hour).
  • Standby: smart standby. Experimental, and it may be switched off in the app until validated. See Power and standby.
  • Low power.
  • A read-only power profile (active, connected, standby, saver or deep), and the standby trips counter.
  • Max session length (1 to 30 minutes).
  • Boost: extra power for the first seconds after reaching temperature, and how long it lasts.
  • Afterglow: a short, low hold after a session ends, and how far the temperature drops.
  • Curve offset (±30 °F).

Let the Focus V app work controls what the device tells the official app.

  • On (quiet): the official app connects and works normally with your presets, lights, settings and temperature readout.
  • Off (the default): the official app shows its Update screen, and one tap there installs the factory firmware. This is the way back to stock.

The change shows after the official app reconnects.

Confirm updates on the device (off by default): when on, an incoming update, or a factory restore, needs two clicks on the device within two minutes. Use it if you want nothing to change the firmware without you touching the device.

Screensaver order and how long each screensaver shows. This only appears on the Carta 2.

Hidden behind a toggle, with a warning. These change real heater behaviour: the controller gains, the preheat lead and margin, a temperature calibration offset for each atomizer class, and the coil reference for flower and concentrate. Leave them alone unless you know what you are doing. They cannot be changed during a session.

Each of these asks you to confirm, and Reset offers to back up first:

  • Reset: settings back to defaults. Your counters are kept.
  • Clear learned heater feed-forward.
  • Reboot: the link drops and the app reconnects.

A card that explains how to make the app open full-screen from your home screen.
